Chris Blight is a Steeler

So we woke up this morning to the news that Chris Blight had joined the Sheffield Steelers after being released by Cardiff Devils.

It was a bit of surprise to me especially after we had been rejected an approach by Hull Stingrays for Jereme Tendler, and as we know the situation down in Cardiff at the moment is terrible and I don't think that many people ae surprised that Blight is another player to be released by the Devils and now it makes you think how long till their best player Mac Faulkner is given the boot.

Chris Blight was in to his second year in the Elite League with Cardiff and in 99 games for the Devils the Canadian right winter scored a total of 129 points (35+94) amassing a total of 93 PIM. Blight is a player that skates extremely well, and is a player that always puts a shift in and everytime I've seen him play for Cardiff against Steelers he's always been a thorn in our side.

Doug Christiansen really didn't hang about when it came to replacing Sirianni and what a player we have got in Chris Blight, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say I really hope Blight brings something new to the line-up that we haven't seen yet this year and hope he racks up the points and helps is to winning some silverware this season.
