Midweek Preview - vs Dundee (EL) Opening Night...sort of

Wednesday night hockey at the Motorpoint Arena sees the Steelers face the Dundee Stars for the first time this year, this being the rearranged fixture from opening night.

The game sees the return of Playoff-winning Chris Blight to the Motorpoint, as well as short-stay Jeff Hutchins.

Robert Dowd and Pascal Morency will be assessed again pre-game, although Dowd is the more likely of the two (if either), as Pascal still sounded very, shall we say, concussed during the webcast interview on Saturday.

Luke Ferrara is free to play, so expect him to slot back into the third line, as Cullen Eddy will likely take the place of Jack Dransfield on the backline, unless Dransfield continues with the team for the evening as Colton Fretter will sit out a one game suspension for his hit in Hull.

By their own fans' admission, the Stars are not the team of last year. Affected by the losses of Dan Bakala and Paul Swindlehurst among others, and the visa refusal on Jade Galbraith, they haven't really gotten out of the blocks yet. One of those "good on paper" teams, lets hope it works out for them. After tonight, of course.

Both Shane Lust and Sam McCluskey were absent for Sunday's loss to Braehead, so they could potentially miss out. New signing Ryan Grimshaw will be in the team, but Brad Plumton will not, having been banned one game by the DoPS for a cross check to the head.

Starting with this game, we will be providing downloadable game sheets for you to print off at home and take to the game with you, should you be a fan of stats and not be a fan of paying to write them into a book.

I'd like to think we're going to continue our good form against a Dundee side completely bereft of confidence and luck.
