Elite Report: Week 8 Review

So what the crystal ball do this weekend just gone? Did it show an improvement from recent weeks where it has been as bad as it comes? Or will the horrific prediction performance continue like a rolling snowball out of control. Read on everybody to find out how we did.

We went into Friday's game at the SSE Arena in Belfast nursing a 50 per cent record from the midweek games in Braehead and Dundee. Obviously the Blaze must have been reading about our predictions and proceeded to implement another dent into the record by recording a 2-1 win there. Down to .333 already, the bad luck continues to haunt us.

Onto the Saturday games now, and we had signs of an improvement too. Giants executed the perfect revenge with a regulation win on home ice in the second of two games against the Blaze, and Devils overcame a plucky Edinburgh 5-2 in Ice Arena Wales. The only dent, Braehead showing their unpredictable nature by being shut out at home by Dundee. Other than that, we were happy.

Now for Sunday. Manchester started the ball rolling well with a 6-2 home triumph over the Caps which was just what we anticipated to happen. Cardiff made it two successful predictions out of two when they saw off the Blaze in overtime at the SkyDome, 3-2. So could we get a full house with a Stars regulation win on Tayside? Er, nope. Braehead decided to ruin the plan and took the win after ten rounds of a penalty shootout.

Looking back then, it wasn't too bad after all. We now advance to 23 out of 58 and the percentage improves to .397 - can we make more strides in the right direction this weekend? Here's hoping we do. Stay tuned for the next ones very soon.
