Elite Report - Week 17 Preview

It's almost Christmas and we're still predicting away. Who knows Santa might buy us a new crystal ball and allow us to get some correct predictions in? We'll have the usual round up from week sixteen coming up later this week, but in the meantime here's week seventeen predicted.

Tuesday night:

Belfast Giants v Manchester Storm: Giants to win this one in regulation and secure their place in the Challenge Cup semi-final.

Wednesday night:

Cardiff Devils v Dundee Stars: Devils are 4-1 up after the first leg on Tayside, I don't see a shock happening in IAW. Devils in regulation.

Thursday night:

Belfast Giants v Edinburgh Capitals: Capitals seldom travel well and Belfast should have more than enough firepower to see them off. Giants regulation win.

Friday night:

Belfast Giants Edinburgh Capitals: Game two in two nights for these guys. Same result, Giants regulation win.

Braehead Clan v Fife Flyers: An appetising game in Braehead prior to Christmas as Clan face their biggest rival, Fife. It could go either way but we'll go for a Clan overtime win.

Cardiff Devils v Manchester Storm: As much as everyone in the league, bar Cardiff themselves, would like a Storm win - we can't see it happening. Devils regulation win.

Nottingham Panthers v Dundee Stars: Both teams are short benched but I think the extra quality of the Panthers will shine through. Joe Fallon is gonna be busy as Panthers win in regulation.
