SIHA Round-up - 29/30.11.2014

Sunday saw three of the SIHA’s junior teams in action on the road starting with Sheffield Lasers in U12’s D1N against Telford. Lasers settled to go into the second period 4-0 up in which they then blew Telford away to be in front 12-0. There was to be no respite for Telford who conceded another 6 goals although they did manage a consolation goal through Alex Blake. Lasers’ goal scorers were Callum Field (5), Tate Shudra (4), Will Szollosy (3), Ross MacPherson (2) and Luke Clare (2) with one apiece for Harry Rushby & Ben Norton.

Sheffield Greyhounds U16’s D2N put in a terrific team performance against a spirited Grimsby team to run out 10-0 winners.

Sheffield Steelhawks U18’s D1N faced a tough game in Coventry and lead for the first half of the game via a Ben Jones goal early in the first period. However two quick goals in the second put Coventry in the driving seat from which they made their chances count with another couple of goals with Philip Mulcahy grabbing a hat-trick. It was a little tough on Steelhawks with a couple of Coventry’s goals taking deflections but Coventry was making it hard for Steelhawks in what was at times a physical game. Sheffield didn’t give up and pulled one back through Peter Troth. Despite working hard, they couldn’t get back into the game which saw Coventry claim a 4-2 win. Tom Barkworth was awarded Steelhawks Man of the Match Award for his performance between the pipes.

Steelhawks U18’s D1N V Nottingham…Sat 6^th Dec. 6.50pm

Also good luck to Lasers U12’s for their game in Altrincham against Manchester and last but by no means least to Greyhounds U16’s who travel to Blackpool with both games being played on Saturday.
