Psst.
Just whisper it, very quietly, but for once there's some genuine excitement about a Steelers/Panthers game. It's a top of the league clash that actually means something - its been a while since we were able to say that. There's probably been a load of promo for it but I've kept myself out of the loop on purpose - I'd rather see the boys do their talking on the ice.
All this precedes what is potentially our last visit to Kirkcaldy for the season, as we look to clip the wings of the Fife Flyers.
Steelers Team News
Dustin Kohn is rated 50/50 as to whether he will return to the lineup after his injury - a scan will determine that. Danny Bois is in line to make his first arena start after being ragged by Zack Fitzgerald in Braehead, while Jason Hewitt is likely to be absent.
Other than that, we should be at full compliment, apart from Luke Ferrara, who will be on Phantoms duty.
Saturday - Nottingham (h)
A classic 4 pointer if ever there was one. Panthers will go three points ahead of us with a regulation win, while a regulation win for us will take us back to the top of the Elite League. It's an orange out night with the new line of merchandise available, so lots of promo opportunities throughout.
Nottingham will be missing Greg Jacina, who is expected to be absent for a couple of weeks, and Chris Lawrence is doubtful after both obtained injuries at the weekend. Mattias Modig will continue between the pipes in place of the injured Craig Kowalski.
Coverage
Live updates throughout the night from @FrozenSteelMNL and @TomWalkeden, as well as analysis from myself @FrozenSteelBlog, as I'm in attendance for the game. See the one with the beard with my name on the back of my shirt? That'll be me, come say hi.
Sunday - Fife (a)
Sunday sees the Steelers make the trip to the Fife Ice Arena, to take on a topsy-turvy Flyers outfit.
The Flyers could be missing Kevin Regan - Swedish netminder Jack Astedt will deputise if he does. Other than that, wait and see how they come out of their game in Glasgow on Saturday.
