So what five hockey things did we learn this week?
1> The EIHL Department of player safety divides opinion - especially at the business end of the season. One thing's for sure they're consistently inconsistent - two game ban for throwing water bottles, but nothing for losing the bench and daylight goonery!?
2> Josh Unice's fourth and fifth shut-out - seventeen games in and he's closing in on DeCaro's eight and Doyle's nine and they both had multiple seasons to rack them up. According to http://steelers-stats.co.uk/ full season records are Laing nine and Moose eleven. Get him signed up G, we probably don't have to play him in the BBT next year much!
3> We knew we weren't going to win all of the last five games - and the BBT bit us again. Thankfully the new Canolfan IĆ¢ Cymru is going to have a larger European sized ice pad. On the plus side, now the best two teams in the league can go head to head on Saturday.
4> If Eddy had shaved his beard earlier, would he be with Forney and Roy at the head of the scoring charts? Three goals in three games makes this his top pro-scoring year, and we need goals from all over as Cardiff aim to knock Forney and Roy off stride.
5> Squeaky bum time - Best of luck concentrating on work this week - next weekend can't come fast enough - the title's there for grabbing boys and you can save the EIHL some asterisks.
One final thought for you - fellow Sheffield Window Centre sponsored side the Sheffield Tigers are having a benefit meet for one of their ex-captain's, Ricky Ashworth, who crashed and suffered severe brain damage eighteen months ago. Take your mind off the run-in and pop down to Owlerton for some Speedway on Sunday. http://www.sheffieldspeedway.co/
