The games are coming thick and fast now as we head towards that time of the season where one mistake could cost you. Teams can ill afford to drop points as it becomes season defining.
After the exertions in Belfast where Steelers picked up three out of four points, correctly called by yours truly, we play one of our matches in hand on Wednesday night. We're back across the car park and into the old en-suite bathroom to face these guys:
Yes folks, we face the Caps in a game that is rescheduled from the original; it was postponed for the second leg of the Challenge Cup back in late November. That night, Steelers took their opponents apart and cruised into the semi-finals of said Cup competition with a 7-1 demolition. A repeat of course would be ideal as we head into the weekend, and helps reduce the gap on second placed Belfast and leaders Cardiff.
Edinburgh obviously will have other ideas as they are looking for a win that would help improve their situation in the league standings too. They are seven points away from the last coveted places and three adrift of the ninth placed team. Caps also possess a decent record in Ice Sheffield over recent years; and this banana skin has to be avoided and avoided well. In import Pavel Voryobev, they have a definite game winner who needs to be watched well.
Steelers are liable to be at full strength dependent on the knock picked up by John Armstrong during the second Belfast game. If he misses out then expect Liam Kirk to be called up and a slight reshuffle again planned by the management team. It's time to kick on!
Prediction? Steelers to build on last weekend and their impressive start to 2017, a 5-1 regulation win looks good enough for me. How about you?
