The Junior Report - Edition 4

Welcome Junior Members, here's the look back on last night as seen by one of your fellow members. Hope you enjoy it.

A Wednesday night at Ice Sheffield saw the Steelers take victory over the Dundee Stars by a 6-goal difference.
It was never going to be a tough game against a Stars outfit who have barely got a run going, and had already lost the previous encounters previously to the Steelers. In league action, this is the last time the Steelers will play the Stars at home. Both games have been played at Ice Sheffield this season, and both times the Steelers have now come out 8-2 winners against the Stars. Omar Pacha was the Stars player-coach just like he was at Manchester Storm, however against the Steelers he is 0-22. A pretty awful record. You’d have thought this would fire his team up to get the win against the Steelers, however we proved just too strong.
In the first period, the Steelers took the lead through Valdix, and then immediately after doubled the advantage through Deveaux. However, the Stars then got on the board through Dickin, and with a screen in front of Mustukovs he sniped one past the in-form keeper. However, what turned out to be the game winner came through Ben O’Connor. With excellent work nine months ago, he then delivered again, with a shot so powerful (insert joke here) Fullerton never saw it.
The second period was another good performance by the lads. A goal from Nelson added to the Stars misery, after a quick transition up the Ice, and shortly after Jรคmtin unleashed hell in Fullerton. He didn’t even see it; and neither did I. A very quick shot from the new boy. Then shorthanded Jonathan Phillips added a sixth, with a 2 on 0 on Fullerton, two quick passes between him and Ramsay saw it slide under Fullerton. Pering then decided to check if it crossed the line because he doesn’t like us. It did.
Into the third period we saw Brad Day go in goal, and he played well. He only conceded the one goal, Gould the scorer for the Stars, but the goal was as good as nothing. The Steelers let the Stars score, and then decided to score a couple more to add the icing on the proverbial cake. Dowd got goal number seven for the Steelers, with a one timer on the powerplay, and then Scott Aarssen finished it off in the last minute when he fired past Fullerton to make the win even more convincing.
3 wins out of 3 against the Stars, the Steelers back up to second in the league standings. This weekend is the Challenge Cup weekend, and I can guarantee the Steelers will rest players for the continental cup, as we have already qualified for the quarter finals.
