Warm appreciation to George for his latest contribution to FSB, All credit for this piece goes to him.
The Steelers welcomed the Panthers
to the arena on a very underwhelming Saturday night.
8,000 in
attendance were to witness a very dull game, that actually saw the Steelers
have SIXTY shots on goal, shot accuracy and an impressive Galbraith costing the
Steelers. The
periods were 0-1, 0-2 and 2-0.
The Panthers got the first goal through an unassisted effort by former NHL draft pick Zack Phillips. They always seem to get a good start against the Steelers and by the end of
the second period had tripled their advantage through Mike Vaskivu and Evan Mosey to put the Steelers down 3-0 at the end of the second period.
With the
atmosphere being flat the Steelers needed a lift which is what they got through
Robert Dowd twice. His first coming via a mad scramble in front of Galbraith,
his second being a powerful low slap shot, However it was simply not enough on
the night. The Panthers winning 3-2, and scribbling 3-2 on the Steelers players
cars. Which I thought was a bit of good fun.
The
Steelers win the 8 game regular season series by 5-3.
