All Time Favourite Player: Jody Lehman
Current Squad Favourite Player: Steven Goertzen
All Time Steelers Starting Six: Lehman (best goalie from my time supporting the Steelers), Munn (best D-man), Sarich , Legue, Talbot (chemistry between Legue and Talbot hasn’t been matched since Talbot left so they have to be together), Dowd (best British player I’ve ever seen)
One Player You Would Sign, Money No Object: Cory Schneider (unbelievable goaltending (and I think he could soon be the best in the NHL) = championship in my opinion)
Best Game Attended: 2006 British Knockout Cup Semi-Final v Cardiff Devils, down 3-0 after the 1st leg, win the 2nd leg 6-2 with Jody putting in a superb effort in goal to keep the Steelers in the tie!
Worst Game Attended: At the end of the 2007/08 season (I think) when we lost to Edinburgh 2-1, just a terrible performance capped off by a terrible Jeff Legue penalty shot - he just skated directly at the goalie, no deking or anything!
One Change You Would Make To The On-Ice Product: Tighten up the D - there just seems to be a great divide on occasion.
One Change To The Off Ice Product: Announce signings the second that all the paperwork is concluded, no signing announcement on ‘xday’ stuff - all the teasers lead to ‘disappointment’ and create animosity amongst certain sections of the fan base
Who Will Win The Silverware This Year? Sadly, Belfast for the Grand Slam… the real one, not the Nottingham version! They are just the best team in the league (Steelers hopefully as runners-up in all competitions but that may be wishful thinking!)
