Thank You Sirianni and Good Luck

So at 12:41pm on 31st January the Sheffield Steelers confirm that they had concluded negotiations with Val Pusteria two days after the Italian club had already announced the signing of Forward Robert Sirianni.

Sirianni signed earlier on in the season after an injury crisis in Sheffield and made an impact on his debut scoring a hat trick against the Cardiff Devils at the Motorpoint Arena. In 32 games for the Sheffield Steelers Italian-Canadian right winger scored a total of 42 points (18+24) amassing an impressive 14 PIM. Sirianni was a highly rated forward who is a skilled winger with quick hands and good offensive instincts, owns a good shot but his work rate isn't always what is desired at times can be a little lazy but when he has one of them game he tends to pop up with a goal or two. Sirianni has spent a large part of his playing career in Italy so it's no surprise he has gone back at the end of the day and he said in an interview on www.sheffieldsteelersihc.co.uk that the reason for leaving is purely hockey and one for the future. You could tell that Sirianni enjoyed being at Sheffield because he showed natural passion that you don't see all the time in players and he even tweeted saying "Thx to all the Steelers fans for all the support through the season. Wishing the guys best of luck the rest of the way #choochoo #beauties" @71siri71. I don't think I'll be the only player keeping an eye on Sirianni out in Italy and I'm also getting updates on him of a fan called Chany (find her on twitter at @chany1994).

Sheffield have also confirmed that they are looking for a replacement and we already know that we have been rejected an approach for Hull Stingray's Jereme Tendler. Christiansen must like the thought of having an extra import as it gives you the option to rest someone if need be and when you look at the bigger picture it's a good idea. So guys we already know we've approached Jereme Tendler but who else would you like? Maybe an old player or maybe someone completely new!! Tweet me @TomWalkeden as I want to hear from everyone.

I also think I speak for everyone when I say thank you to Rob Sirianni for the work he has done  at the Sheffield Steelers and we wish you all the best for the future and good luck in Italy with your new team.
