Frozen Steel End Of Season Awards - Your Chance To Win A Goodie Bag

A month or so ago we reached 500 followers on Twitter, which quite frankly is ludicrous for some people ranting about Ice Hockey. A huge thank you to everybody who has followed us, you're all diamonds.

I promised you all a competition when we reached that mark. I haven't forgotten. I was just looking for a good excuse. And here it is.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the first annual Frozen Steel Blog End Of Season Awards.

It's reached the point in the year where we start reflecting on the year that has been. And it has certainly been a rollercoaster. We haven't had a great number of highs, and it certainly feels like we've had plenty of lows. Yet we sit second in the table, with a renewed sense of optimism for the upcoming playoffs. Now it's over to you to decide the best bits. With each answer, tell me why. The best will be published in the "award show" article.

Import Of The Year
Who has been your favourite overseas player? Is it the doctor-like (for the way he has saved us on many occasions) talents of Frank Doyle? The dogged persistence of Stefan Meyer? Rob Sirianni's ability to score when he wanted? The dishmastery of Ilpo Salmivirta? Tell us your favourite import, and a reason why.

Brit Of The Year
Who has been your favourite homegrown talent? Has the golden shine from Robert Dowd caught your attention? What about the return to form of Jonathan Phillips or Jason Hewitt? Has the reliability of Mark Thomas been to your liking? Again, tell us who and why.

Performance Of The Year
Was it the resolute team display in the NIC on December 27th? How about last week's defeat of Belfast? Has another overall team performance really stood out for you? Tell us why.

Most Improved Player
This is only open to players who returned from last year, but who from the returning players has improved the most since last year? Explain.

Non-Steelers Player Of The Year
Who in the Elite League has been the outstanding player? I imagine this player may wear teal, but show your working.

Sheffield Steelers Player Of The Year
The big one. The one you're all here for. Who is your player of the year, and why?
