Sheffield would come out for the third period and carry on where they left off where they carried on hammering at Kowalski's goal and on 57:01 they found their equaliser with the scorer being Stefan Meyer after a fantastic assist by Drew Fata. Both teams had failed to score on the power play on the night four for Sheffield and three for Nottingham.

Into the shootout and first up would be Chris Blight who would successfully score against Kowalski followed up by Matt Francis who would be denied by Frank Doyle.
