The View From On High - Blaze (h) (1/4/14, POQF)

Come On Baby, Let The Good Times Roll...

That's what it felt like last night. Nerves until the first goal, then we had a party.

Let's look back at it.

That Was A Steelers Performance
Clever choice of hits, good offensive play, solid D. That's where the Sheffield Steelers have been. It was like watching a game from the double season, or even from the Simon season. Once the first goal went in, the tension was lifted off the building. Goal 2 sealed the deal, and the party started.

Ohhhhhhhh Nate Di-Cas-Mir-ro
And repeat. And repeat. Ad nauseum. DiCas was everywhere last night. Absolutely everywhere. 4 assists, and took a hold of the game by the scruff of its neck. Special mentions to his linemates Robert Dowd and Stefan Meyer, who fully looked up for it.

Blaze Put Out
As good as we were, the Blaze were as bad. Only Cale Tanaka looked in the remotest bit interested, and they let themselves, coach Marc Lefebvre, and the travelling support down, in a big way. I imagine that was, for the Blaze, like watching us in the CC Semi in the NIC in February.

The G Effect
It would be too easy to say that the turnaround in form is all down to Gerad, but they look a different team since the coaching change. Whether that be some fresh ideas, a fresh approach, or a bit of freedom, who could tell? But it was a pleasure to watch us play last night, which it hasn't always been this year.

Rock The Block, Take A Bow
Man, that atmosphere last night. They never stopped. Trying to keep up with them in 204 knackered me out and broke my drum, so that's some achievement. Credit also needs to go to Stephen Dowson for his spots over the microphone, as he let RTB take the lead and get the crowd going. It was awesome to be a part of.

Thank You
