5 Things We Learnt This Weekend - 14/9/14

4 point weekend. 5 things to take away from it.

1. No Sunday Curse
Not yet anyway. If we'd been around early doors of last season every one of these would have been a post-mortem on yet another Sunday failing. Not so this year. 2 wins out of two, and long may it continue.

2. We have a backbone
Gave up a lead, momentum and logic would have seen a Fife OT win last night, especially with getting into penalty trouble in OT. Not so, shootout win. Didn't get back til 6am? Down a d-man? Not a problem.

3. FFR
Fretter, Forney, Roy. We will win something this year with those three chaps. Different class.

4. Braehead are strong
Very good roster they've got there. Big wins already. Look like they might tear up the Gardiner. That overall EIHL win bet doesn't look so daft at this early stage.

5. Everybody loves Edinburgh
Apart from the Department for Player Safety. Yes, they should have had the tape, and fair enough to fine them, but ten games is absurd. Them's the breaks, but it's proved to be a rallying point for them - ran Belfast close for two periods on Friday, and got a big win in Hull on Saturday.
