Collectors Corner - September 2014

Start of a new feature where we peruse the internet to look for rarities, special items and little snippets of the past that may complete your collections.

Each month I'll look at three items, giving as much detail as I can about them, and how much/where you can find them.

Frank Kovac Steelers Jersey - Medium

Not a name I'm familiar with, Frank Kovacs iced for the Steelers from 1996-1999, scoring 38+44 in 113 games in the ISL era, racking up 278 penalty minutes.

Like I said, not a name I'm familiar with but fans from that era will know him. Plus, it's one of the nicest Steelers shirts I've seen come up on Ebay.

If you want this, act quick - bidding finishes at 8:06pm tonight, but with no bids the price currently sits at £4.99 - worth a pop.

Steelers/Panthers Match Programme 4th March 1994

Rated as in good condition by the seller, this is one for the purists who collects programmes - I used to back in the day with football ones, until I ran out of space.

From the third year of the Steelers' existence, it's a good piece of history for those who like that kind of thing.

It has a buy it now price of £2 with free postage.

Robert Dowd Autographed Player Card

A bit of a rarity this one. While the 2007/8 Playoff Champions cards are probably not that rare in themselves, this card is both signed by the golden boy, but also signed with his then-number 15 - those of you who have had items signed by him since will know he signs with 75 - he even has it tattooed on his neck.

This has a buy it now price of £2.99 with £1.25 postage, and is a good item for fans of both Dowd and fans of that team - the majority of which came back to do the double in 08/09.
