The Form Guide - 5th September

Another look at the latest odds from around the league, except they're a bit lacking at present - there are no game odds on any of the bookmakers I can find.

It's the beast that is the Elite League - not even bookies will touch us. Well, apart from one.

Skybet are offering odds on the outright winner of the regular season.

Belfast are the narrow favourites at 7/4 (just under 2/1) with the Steelers at second favourite at 2/1. Coventry started the betting at 20/1 but a fair bit of money has seen them backed into 4/1.

If you're thinking the Erhardt conference will see the league winners, your best bet is to get behind one of them - with the outsiders in the Erhardt, Cardiff, still a tempting 10/1. However, if you have the same belief as me, where the Erhardt clubs could cancel each other out, it may be worth a flutter on Braehead, where a handy profit could be made from their 12/1.

I don't think Sky did much research into their odds, as it would take a serious amount of money to send a team from 20/1 to 4/1, unless there was barely any money in the market. So try to take advantage of the money available.

There are also odds available this weekend for the CHL, but Panthers aside, I don't know enough about the teams involved. If there's any sort of decent price available, I'd go on the Panthers to lose by 3 or more goals, but I doubt there'd be much profit in it. This isn't a slant on the Panthers, but playing better opposition in their own arenas will do for them.

As always, Frozen Steel reminds you to gamble responsibly.
