5 Things We Learnt This Weekend - 14/15th Feb 2015

Thank you to Tony for his contribution to FSB, All Credit for this piece goes to him so any queries you can contact Tony on Twitter @DISGU15ED

So what five hockey things did we learn this week?

1> The EIHL and wider hockey family are awesome - we're lucky to have each other, even the Panthers fans. The response to Amy Usher's news was instantaneous and league wide. #hockeyfamilystickstogether

2> Do you remember Mark Twaite? No, me neither, next....

3> Leaders tell everyone what's going to happen and how to do it - Mathieu Roy stepped up mid week and told us we were going to win at the NIC and he had the skills and determination to make it happen. Top lad.

4> Jono Phillips joined the 700 club - that's 700 games in all elite league competitions, and there's only three others to hit that mark. Any guesses? Think Brit line, think Steelers, thank Hill, Hewey and Thomo.

5> Hockey players are tough - Sean Beattie was stretchered off the Ice Sheffield ice on Wednesday, and taken to hospital in an ambulance. He was playing again on Friday in the Premiers Sports TV game against the Devils :o

Final thought : When legends get 'leg-less' do they just become 'ends'? We will see on Monday at the roast, and Tuesday at the testimonial game!
