So a week of contrasts leave us with another five things we learnt this week:
1> Single leg cup finals are awesome - What a great atmosphere in the Arena on Sunday, and we couldn't have chosen a better set of fans to face-off against. Never heard the anthems sung so loudly.
2> Stupid petulant penalties can be costly - I bet Jeff is regretting his actions, but he's experienced enough to know that you can't retaliate in their zone just because you don't get the call you want. Plonker.
3> Great win for the Devils - after being a dominant force in the 1990's that's the first banner they've added for almost ten years, so they were due whatever breaks they got.
4> we’re still in the race for the league - Great wins against Braehead and Belfast this week leaves the title in our hands - win out and we take the title. We've only got to beat the Blaze, Panthers and Devils to do it!
5> The Blaze are on fire - see what I did there? - In the last ten games they've won 9 and only lost once in OT - makes you wonder what their coach knows that all the other EIHL regulars don't doesn't it. Also in the last ten games, the Stars, Giants and Panthers are the bottom three!
One final thought for you - will Braehead bottle it? In this week’s two games they have conceded 8 and scored none, and here's another stat which makes you wonder why we're behind them in the league
