Might as well get this one done quicker since there's a game tonight in the Elite League in less than an hour. Time once more for your weekly dose of what we think will happen in week number ten of the season.
Time to crack on as they say...
Friday night:
Edinburgh Capitals v Cardiff Devils
The Capitals are one of those teams that we can't really surmise as being consistent. Take last weekend for example, they win in Nottingham when nobody expects it but then lose at home on the Sunday on home ice. Can't see Devils falling victim. Verdict: Welsh reign in the capital and done in 60 minutes.
Saturday night:
Coventry Blaze v Belfast Giants
These two meet again a fortnight than before wasn't it when Blaze headed to Northern Ireland for a double header, that was a split series. The home side are liable to apparently be without Brian Stewart and they need to improve on last week, players need to stand up and be counted. Verdict: Blaze burned in regulation.
Dundee Stars v Cardiff Devils
The second of Cardiff's Scottish triple header and the first of Dundee's back to back home games this weekend. It's a game that could go either way, Cardiff are in form whilst Dundee are a bit up and down. Both need points for differing reasons. Verdict: Second successive regulation away win for Devils.
Manchester Storm v Nottingham Panthers
Again this is another game which could actually go either way. Storm are much improved this season and on home ice, seem to be building some kind of fortress. Panthers need to regroup after a zero pointer last weekend, otherwise underperformers could be gassed. Verdict: Storm showering misery on Corey in overtime.
Sunday night:
Nottingham Panthers v Belfast Giants
Are the Panthers going to experience more misery on home ice? It's very much possible especially if Derrick Walser's team bring their A-Game to the NIC and Panthers fail to deliver. But surely this can't happen. Don't rule it out though. Verdict: Panthers to strike back with a regulation win at last.
Coventry Blaze v Manchester Storm
The heat is definitely on in the SkyDome and Storm could be the latest team to stoke the fires of uncertainty in Danny Stewart's direction. It's not been an easy ride for the former cult player, Pach could get something from this. Verdict: Blaze fire up a much needed win but in overtime.
Fife Flyers v Cardiff Devils
What's left in the tank after two, bound to be, hard games on the Friday and Saturday. Very seldom do teams go on a Scottish triple road header and win the lot, especially when you finish in Fife. There might be some tired legs in the away locker room, Fife can capitalise. Verdict: Flying Fifers in regulation.
So that's how we see it? How about you?
