Well time once more to look back on another week of Elite League action. Did we improve on our sorry record from previous weeks? Or did we continue to be as horrific as ever? Read on everyone, you're about to find out.
Friday night first all.
Not a bad start to be honest, particularly when we posted the predictions just seconds after the matches actually started. Both the Belfast Giants and the Panthers did the business as requested, winning their respective matches in regulation. We would have had a rare full house if the Storm had beaten the Stars in overtime; Stars settling that one in a penalty shootout thanks to only Mikael Lidhammar finding the back of the net in the initial rounds.
Saturday action.
Whilst we were rejoicing after the crushing of those Panthers; I was pre-occupied with seeing how the other three games unfolded. Just like Friday night, we managed to get two right. The winners for us were both Fife and Braehead as they managed to win regulation time. Again we got close to a full house, with Belfast settling their game in regulation against the Devils as opposed to overtime which we had chosen. Still another decent night.
Sunday.
Not as good as the previous nights' work, as we managed to only get one of the three correct. The one we got right? As expected it was Cardiff beating Manchester in regulation at Ice Arena Wales. Blaze beat Clan in regulation as opposed to our overtime prediction, whilst Giants crushed the Caps in Murrayfield when we thought the home side would be victorious.
So overall we grabbed a decent haul of 5 correct predictions of 9. That's probably one of the best efforts we've had all season if my memory serves me right. Therefore the overall standing moves to 32 out of 81 and an increase of the percentage to .395! Will week twelve see us break the magic .400 barrier and move onwards to breaking even? This week's predictions will be online later this week, so stay tuned for them.
