After securing a hard fought 5-2 win at Ice Sheffield against the Edinburgh Capitals, a result that closed the gap on second placed Belfast further: Steelers are back in the main building on Saturday night.
It's yet another home and home series, the fifth in as many weeks to be honest, and our opponents are no other than:
It's the Coventry Blaze, and that means our old friend Bri-a-a-a-a-nnn! That behemoth wearing 41 is back in town and out to stop our recent good form whilst helping his Blaze side to more points after four last weekend in games against Cardiff and Nottingham. We all know what the recipe for success is here, be tight in defence and incessant in offence. Don't allow Brian to settle else you could have an awkward night in front of you, and we have been on the receiving end of that before haven't we?
Pepper him with shots and get him moving about, and you've got an excellent chance of coming off the ice with a win. He's pure entertainment when he loses his marbles. Can we come away with wins on both nights? I don't see why not, but Sunday in the SkyDome potentially could be a banana skin waiting to happen if we don't stick to the game plan that has served us so well there this season. Blaze will of course fancy their chances too, and they've upset us a few times over the last few seasons. We need to play a couple of solid 60 minute games, and if we do that then we will be fine.
Prediction time: Steelers to win 4-2 on Saturday, Blaze to get a 3-2 overtime win on the Sunday. What do you think?
