UK Forum All-Stars 2014! What You Might Not Know!

The UK Forum All-Stars is a yearly event that takes place around the last weekend of July raising as much money as possible for charity!

It doesn’t matter if you play every week or if your lacing the boots up for the first time the whole point is together raise as much money as possible and you leave the event with lifelong friends.

Each team has people that can hardly skate but just want to get involved it really is an amazing weekend to be a part off.

The All-Stars began in 2008 when they had just 34 skaters raising a total of £3,600 in Sheffield, and every year the weekend has just gone from strength to strength with last year’s event in Sheffield raising a staggering £30,550 with 6 teams and the 2014 event has been raised up to 8 teams.

The event is not just held in Sheffield but it is the fourth time Sheffield has had the event with the steel city hosting it in 2008, 2011, 2013 and now 2014, it also took place in Basingstoke in 2009 and then in Cardiff in 2010 and 2012.

All the players that are successful in applying will be placed on one of the 8 teams and their job is to raise as much money as possible for that charity the 8 teams that players are raising money for are:

  • Autism Plus
  • Blue Cross Animal Welfare
  • Breast Cancer Care
  • Dreams Come True
  • Help For Heroes
  • Prostate Cancer UK
  • Sheffield Children’s Hospital
  • The British Heart Foundation.
The 8 teams will go up against each other on the 26th and 27th July 2014. The weekend gets underway on the Friday 25th at the Steelers Sports Bar with an Auction and Quiz Night, With the games getting underway on the Saturday between 12pm and 7pm with it being £3 entry a day or £5 for a weekend ticket which is then followed by the evening entertainment at Stars and Mayfair party suites in Sheffield which should be getting underway around 8pm, games will then continue on the Sunday 12pm to 7pm followed by the leaving party that night at around 8pm at the Noose & Giblet across the road from the Motorpoint Arena.

So you know what’s happening! You know where! Now please get down and support all 8 charities that promises to be a fantastic weekend, how fantastic would it be if we could sell out Ice Sheffield for an event like this.

Also I’m taking part in this years event playing the Blue Cross team and as a member of the Frozen Steel team I know Liam doesn't mind me doing this bit, but if you would like to donate and help me raise even more money you can donate online on my page (here) or you text TWBC96 £Amount to 70070 and all donations even if its just a £1 is massively appreciated and every little helps.

There is a video on Youtube of the kits the teams will be wearing and it is there just below followed by the poster for the entire weekend at the top of the blog.

Thank you for taking your time to read this and even if you donate to me but to another player I thank you as all donations to any of the 8 charities is amazing.
