Well we wanted to show an improvement on the previous week where everything went terribly wrong and totally unacceptable. Did this happen? Time to look back on another week in the Elite League and find out. Read on...
First of all on Saturday evening's action:
Looking at what, and what actually happened then we can say we didn't do half bad. Three games played, and two of them correct. Now that's more like it isn't. Regulation wins for both the Clan and Storm, good work fellas. Shame we didn't foresee the events in the SkyDome Coventry. Well Giants kinda rampaged to a 4-1 road win there, and we bet for sure that wee Danny Stewart would have had a few harsh words in that home locker room. It's gotten that bad that already the Blaze faithful are collectively naming names on social media, saying Player A or Player B has got to go.
So much for that promising beginning? Looks like the sloppiness has returned. Sort it out young Daniel, else you will be feeling the heat as well. No room for sentiment in hockey.
Now on the joy that was Sunday, could we do the same or better?
To be honest it was back to the usual scenario, nothing right at all. However we did come close if that's any consolation. Capitals won their game in regulation much our chagrin, we thought - as you remember by reading back - they'd need overtime. Clan got a much needed win, and how long has the Purple Army wanted that - in Kirkcaldy. Dundee stepped up to the plate and skated to their first win in the league, Storm blown aside 3-2, whilst Giants completed a four point weekend by upsetting the locals in the ever so fabulous NIC.
Therefore from seven games, two right. It's a slight improvement on the previous week we suppose. Takes us to 18 out of 50, and percentage rate of .360! Can we improve in week eight? Hope so, and it starts tonight (Wednesday) when Clan entertain the Devils at Braehead and Edinburgh entertain Dundee. We're going for a home overtime win on the Clan one and a regulation win for the Caps. We'll see they're right and then look ahead to the rest of the games in the big preview tomorrow or Friday night.
