An apology first and foremost...
This article really should have been uploaded earlier in the week but with increased work commitments, means it is only going up tonight (Friday). Three games are being played tonight and are probably well underway too. I'll post quick fire summaries for each of these and then move onto Saturday and Sunday's action. Sorry for any inconvenience caused, my memory ain't what it used to be haha.
Friday night:
Three games in action, two in the Elite League and the other in the Challenge Cup Group B.
Nottingham Panthers v Coventry Blaze - Panthers to win this one in regulation.
Belfast Giants v Fife Flyers - Giants, also to win in regulation too.
Manchester Storm v Dundee Stars - Storm to record the win in overtime.
Well that's Friday out of the way, now on Saturday:
Belfast Giants v Cardiff Devils: This game promises to be an absolute heavyweight encounter. So many things could happen here, that it could go either way. Will Nickerson and Bordeleau drop the gloves too? It's a hard one to call, very hard. Verdict: Devils slain by the Giants in overtime.
Manchester Storm v Braehead Clan: Another one that could go either way. Storm have been good, very good in fact, on home ice but Clan are one of those teams who could go and nick the points. They certainly have the ability, Storm need to be solid. Verdict: Storm blown away by Clan raiders in regulation.
Fife Flyers v Edinburgh Capitals: The thing about this season more than ever, is that anyone could go into another team's barn on any given night - and win. Edinburgh certainly have the ability, Fife are usually good on home ice and rarely dip. Verdict: Flyers soar after a home regulation triumph.
And finally Sunday:
Coventry Blaze v Braehead Clan: The SkyDome has been a happy hunting ground for the Clan in the past, and it would not surprise me if they won there again. But Blaze had a good confidence boosting weekend just gone when Clan were inactive. They could be happy again. Verdict: Blaze burn Clan in overtime.
Edinburgh Capitals v Belfast Giants: Bar a few bumps, Edinburgh's home form has really been the backbone on which they have surpassed all their early season expectations. Nobody is going there and coming away with a convincing road win. Giants could find this hard. Verdict: Capitals regulation reign.
Cardiff Devils v Manchester Storm: Three in three nights for the Storm when they go into Ice Arena Wales hoping to surprise the Devils. However Devils are a team in excellent form, and scarcely lose at home. This will continue into Sunday night. Verdict: Welsh woe for Pacha's men, and in regulation.
So that's my thoughts, what about you?
