Elite Report - Week 20 Review

Time once more to look back and see how our predictions fared against the actual results in week twenty of the season. We had a bump the previous week where hardly anything went right, could be this better. Read onwards, read onwards.

Saturday night, and how can we put in polite terms. We got absolutely nada, zilch, zero in fact. Now if it had been Cardiff winning in overtime as opposed to Belfast then we would scored one but Chris Higgins had obviously been reading FSB before OT was started. Hence he went to spoil the party and score an overtime winner for the second time in seven days. Cheers Chris!

Clan got upset in the M8 derby and by all accounts, the Caps deserved their road win. It goes to prove anyone can beat anyone on a given night. Likewise Stars outshone the Flyers and secured an overtime win there, again picking up some vital points if they want to finish in the top eight come mid-March.

So onto Sunday, did we do any better than Saturday? Erm, no. An absolute blank weekend compounded. Unfortunately Stars couldn't win in overtime against the Giants, but Mikael Lidlhammar certainly slew them in the shootout. Manchester came from behind to beat the Clan in regulation; this after Clan had gone 2-0 ahead early doors, and Fife inflicted a loss on the Caps.

Not what we wanted, and the skid continues for a second successive week. It takes the overall total to 60 out of 161 and a percentage of a paltry .373 - that's not good is it? The Continental Tea Tray holders are back in action this weekend, maybe that will stop the skid? Then again, who knows. One can only but predict and see. New week's predictions coming shortly...
