I was going to leave this column until Thursday night but you know something, let's get the damn thing out of the way tonight. Coming to you faster than Shea Weber unleashing a 104.8 miles per hour laser in the All Star Weekend hardest shot contest; it's time to look back on week number twenty-four.
Seatbelts fastened? Good, because here it is...
It all started last Wednesday with the second leg of a Challenge Cup semi-final and league action in Braehead. Yeah Braehead did what we expect but holy cow, who expected Cardiff to destroy the Giants as convincing as they did? Come on Andy (Lord), that wasn't in the script and you know it. Incredible result mind, but not if you are of the teal persuasion right?
Friday night and just one game, could Giants get redemption? Well they did, even if the scoreline wasn't as expansive as we thought. A regulation home win just as we ordered.
Saturday. Still not so bad, even if we were feeling depressed after that first twenty minutes in the old fabulous NIC. Two out of three which will do the trick, so thank you very much to Braehead and Cardiff. Storm rained all over the Flyers and downed them, so no full house.
And finally we come to Sunday. Two more successes thanks to the Clan and the Devils...again! Cheers for that lads, certainly softened the blow in Dundee winning against the Storm after regulation and then that result coming out of Kirkcaldy? Holy sh*tballs as Captain Jonna would scream, that's two games were the Giants have been slain and slain well and good. Can't imagine our Derrick (Walser) being very happy with that especially when they overcame a 4-1 deficit to lead 5-4, Neil Warnock tantrum mode activated by DW we would think.
So then in ten games played, we got six out of them right. Crack open that bottle of Möet, we're in jubliant mood to celebrate for once. That improves the stats too, 74 out of 196 and a percentage leap to .378 - holy sh*tballs indeed. Let's see if the forthcoming weeks predictions are equally as good!
