Time once more to get predicting. Last week's results to come in a separate column later this week but let's see what Septic Peg's hockey crystal ball has to say for the week ahead; week number twenty-five!
Wednesday 15 February 2017:
Dundee Stars v Edinburgh Capitals: Ninth against bottom, a game that could decide already who misses out on the play-offs. I believe Stars will impress at home and win it in regulation.
Friday 17 February 2017:
Belfast Giants v Cardiff Devils: The biggest clash of the season as the two top dogs clash in the "O" on Friday night. If Devils get a point they'll be smiling, Giants to edge in overtime methinks.
Braehead Clan v Fife Flyers: There's certainly no love lost between these two protagonists as they battle it out for the Gardiner Conference crown. Either could win it, Clan regulation in a close game.
Saturday 18 February 2017:
Belfast Giants v Cardiff Devils: Second game of the huge double header. Whatever happens Friday might influence Saturday easily. Giants took this one in regulation methinks.
Fife Flyers v Dundee Stars: Fife want the points to maintain their post season push, Stars want them to make the top eight. Awkward one to call this, maybe Flyers in overtime?
Nottingham Panthers v Coventry Blaze: Blaze could win here if they learn to stop leaking goals, Panthers need to be a bit more clinical and that's what they'll be...regulation home triumph!
Sunday 19 February 2017:
Coventry Blaze v Nottingham Panthers: Panthers could prowl to a four point weekend or the Blaze could burn them away as they need points. I'll settle for Blaze to win on a shootout in this one.
Dundee Stars v Fife Flyers: Another double header, fourth one. Fife are playing their third game in as many nights and this could be the difference. Stars shining with a regulation win over a tired Flyers.
