Elite Report: Week 6 Review

Six weeks into the season, and time to look back on another weekend of predictions in the 2016-17 season. Did we carry on the good work from last Sunday or were we back to our hopeless standard? Read on and find out.

Well to be honest, and before we do the actual look back, we will might as well as admit it: we were rubbish once more. The form from last Sunday degenerated into well, how can we put it cleanly, an abyss of pathetic. This is how it all unfolded.

Saturday night:

Four games, and just one success. That being the Panthers winning at home to Dundee Stars. Thank you very much Mr Jeff Dimmen for making that happen otherwise it would have been a complete blow-out. Cardiff dipped to Coventry, Storm got hammered in Fife and Giants made easy work of the Clan. That was just not what we wanted.

Sunday night:

If getting just one right on the Saturday night then Sunday proved to be even worse. We managed to draw a complete and utter blank. Good job we didn't pop a wager on them isn't it? Every prediction went down quicker than that great boxer known as Audley Harrison (and that's not disrespecting Audley). The nearest we got was Panthers again, they eventually won on penalties in the Shelter when we called an OT win. Absolute garbage!

This now takes us to the grand total of 16 called correct out of a possible 43. We are below the .500 bar and .372 is simply not gonna do. If we were a marquee import signing for any EIHL team; we would be gassed by now and that's before we heard of the news emanating from the West Coast of Scotland later this afternoon. We have to do better, here's hoping that week seven becomes lucky seven for us. That percentage has to take an upward turn.
