Penultimate week of action in the Elite League this week. Titles could be won, play-off positions could be all confirmed for some clubs. It all promises to be very exciting and tense to say the least. Will Cardiff clinch their first title for 20 years or will be they be forced to made to wait until the final weekend.
Sit tight folks, the bumpy ride is far from over for sure. Just make sure that you are strapped in well.
Friday 17 March 2017:
Dundee Stars v Nottingham Panthers: Dundee have had a strong finish to the season and are looking good for a top eight finish. Panthers have been woeful since they came back from Italy, and I can see these woes continuing on Tayside Friday night. Stars after overtime here.
Saturday 18 March 2017:
Belfast Giants v Coventry Blaze: Coventry have been so unpredictable this season, one minute fantastic and then one minute absolutely abysmal. The Giants should have more than quality to see them off and I expect them to do so in regulation as well.
Edinburgh Capitals v Nottingham Panthers: Surely Panthers away woes can't continue at the basement club Capitals. Whilst Caps do have enough about them to ensure they do, I think we might have the rarity that is a Panthers road win here. And inside 60 minutes too.
Fife Flyers v Braehead Clan: This could be a dress rehearsal for a play-off quarter final easily. Both sides would love to get that little bit of one upmanship on the other if bragging rights are to be on the line. Fife to get two points after overtime as they continue their chase for fifth place.
Manchester Storm v Dundee Stars: If ever a game could be like game seven of Lord Stanley's Finals then this would be it. One point and two places separate the teams and defeat is not an option for either side. But one will have to lose, it could go all the way easily. Storm after a shootout.
Sunday 19 March 2017:
Cardiff Devils v Fife Flyers: Depending on the previous two nights, there could conceivably be a party atmosphere in Ice Arena Wales on Sunday evening. Fife have the ability to be the surprise packet and be the poopers but a home loss isn't too commonplace. Devils in regulation again, Flyers will be plucky though.
Coventry Blaze v Braehead Clan: Blaze's penultimate game of the season and they will be out to finish on home ice in the regular season on a high. Clan have the ability to win there but will their minds be elsewhere? Blaze to record a regulation win here.
Edinburgh Capitals v Nottingham Panthers: The two sides lock horns again as Panthers conclude their three games in three nights Scottish road trip. Depending on how much the visitors have left in the tank, might decide the outcome. Caps to squeeze out an overtime win and upset Corey.
So those are my predictions, what about yours?
