Frozen Steel Statement

Between this season's playoff quarter finals and the playoff finals weekend, after much deliberation, we announced through the Frozen Steel MNL account on Twitter that the 2017/18 EIHL season would be the last for Frozen Steel in its entirety. We would like to take this opportunity to fully explain, as promised, why we have come to this very difficult decision. There will be three parts to this statement

1. Explaining the reasons for the closure of Frozen Steel Blog.

2. Explaining in further detail why Alan will cease to provide his own MNL service.

3. The "next generation" of Steelers bloggers and where you can find them.

Grab a cuppa folks, this WILL be a long read.

During the course of this season, we had found it increasingly difficult to find the appropriate time to regularly produce and release our articles for you to read on the blog, produce a podcast for you to listen to each week and also were unable to give a newly formed junior section the appropriate push it deserved.
A lot of this has been down to Alan having to spend and focus a serious amount of his time on his work and his business, having hit financial troubles with it early in the season. Due to having to then recover the business, he has since sacrificed, and continues to sacrifice, a lot of time away from home, which is the main reason for there being no podcasts in several months. We looked at trying to record podcasts through different means, but due to technical difficulties, it proved too difficult to try and get around. He had also hoped to create and promote a new junior section for the blog, to help find the next generation of bloggers in the Steelers fan base, having agreed to merge with the Steel The Puck blog and take them under our wing. Again, due to his work and his business, he was unable to focus the appropriate amount of time towards helping George grow the junior section after its creation.
Further to this, soon after the turn of the year, Mark was finding it increasingly difficult to find the spare time required to keep editing, producing and releasing the various articles for you to read on the blog itself. He also had other things to focus on in his life, such as his football media commitments and his better half. He eventually came to a decision in mid-March that he would be looking to step down from the blog and look to utilise his free time elsewhere.
We decided that before making a final decision on the fate of Frozen Steel, we would sit down and discuss at length any possible further alternatives to keep the blog running. In the end, we concluded that it would simply be far too time consuming, even to spread the workload even more, and thus decided that this season would be the last.
Since the initial announcement that Frozen Steel would be fully closing, a lot of people were upset to see that our MNL Twitter account particularly would be closing, and not just be renamed as something else and the service continue to be provided. There were also a few comments with regards to our Breaking The Ice podcast that we provided. To explain that decision further, Alan had the following to say on the two matters.
"Four years ago, I decided to create the MNL Twitter account as a little bit of a project, something different for me to do on a match night, to add a new dimension if you will to my hockey night experience. Back then, I felt that the club wasn't as good as it could have been in keeping the fans regularly up to date on what was happening during the games, both Steelers fans not at the game and the visiting teams’ fans as well. We were starting to see an increase in the following on the blog, so I simply thought, why not?
Not long after that, things just blew up. The account took off and I was able to enjoy my hockey nights even more because of people being thankful that I was able to keep them informed of what was going on. In turn, it also helped grow the blog itself furthermore. More followers, more articles and then eventually the podcast, something I will address shortly.
However, I also knew that at some point the club would start to improve its official match night updates. Over the course of the 2017/18 season, plus towards the very back end of the 2016/17 season, I have been incredibly fortunate enough to be able to help the club directly in keeping the fans informed on its official account, on odd occasions. That has been something that I have taken great pride in being able to do with the trust of the club. I have David Simms to thank personally for that, having first asked me to help him out as an emergency for an away game in Nottingham. We also owe him a huge thank you for allowing us to promote the podcast we were producing through the club’s Twitter account as well.
One thing I would like to make clear however is this. Despite me deciding to shut down my own update service, either as Frozen Steel MNL or under another name, I will gladly continue to assist the club directly in keeping fans up to date on away games, on the clubs official account, whenever they need me to fill in for them if I am able to be there myself. I have always said that between the MNL account and the official account that we would always find a way to have you covered. Going forward, I hope that we can continue to do that with me helping the club directly from now on, should they require my assistance at any time.
With regards to the podcast, due to my work and business having to take a huge priority, the podcast took quite a shelving and had a very abrupt finish. A podcast however, MAY still feature next season, but that is something I will look at further down the line, even if it only ends up being a monthly thing. Other clubs have podcasts about it, and our club certainly should have one as well, so that is something I'll look into again during the summer."
Going forward, we are pleased to say that there IS a new generation of bloggers out there starting to regularly cover things to do with our club. With the decision to close Frozen Steel fully, George has decided that he would bring back his Steel The Puck blog. He has since reversed the name change to Frozen Steel Jr, and Steel The Puck is now back on Twitter. You can find it at @steelthepuck so make sure you go and follow it.
Also, when we created the junior section, part of the original team brought in was Amy-Leigh. However, after a slow start to getting articles put online, she decided she would go it alone and start to produce her own blog and articles. We are pleased to say that over the season, her work has improved greatly and now becomes an enjoyable read, with one or two pieces in our minds being quite exceptional, not just for someone her age either. She has also been able to get interviews directly with players as well as a couple of other surprising features. You can find her blog at @ice_the_puck on Twitter.
Furthermore, you can find the direct links for the blogs are www.steelthepuck.wordpress.com and www.icethepuck.wordpress.com Please, please, PLEASE give these two young fans the follows and support that they deserve.

In closing this statement, there are a few thank yous that should be made:
Firstly, thank you to Liam McCausland, for being one that created Frozen Steel in the first place and asking for Alan and Tom to assist him after its creation. Whilst things ended pretty badly between the three of them, we must respect, as we always have, that without Liam’s initial idea, none of us would be here doing this for the length of time that we have.
Secondly, thank you to Tom Walkeden, for his time with the blog until he decided he needed to focus on more important issues. We will always be here for Tom, through thick and thin. You will always be a part of the Frozen Steel team.
Thirdly, thank you to Tony, for his time in assisting us (particularly Mark) in collaborating our Soapbox and also filling in when others were on holiday, in making sure that articles still got produced and released.
Fourthly, thank you to everyone that has been a part of the Soapbox, for being part of our most popular articles ever produced on the blog. Having the wide range of opinions over the years has made for terrific reading and has been a huge part of the blogs success.
Fifthly, thank you to David Simms and the Sheffield Steelers, for allowing us to have the opportunity and time to work with you all more directly, especially in the last two seasons. It has been a pleasure to have built a more direct working relationship with you all and we hope that is something we can continue to develop going forward, despite the closure of Frozen Steel. If you ever need a favour or a helping hand with something that needs producing, please, just ask us.\par
Sixthly, thank you to Richard Renshaw, for helping us design and create near enough all of our headers, footers and the like, for the blog and Twitter accounts. His work helped add a more professional look to everything we did.\par
Seventhly, thank you to our fellow bloggers and podcasters from around the league, for your initial advice, continued support and equally your continued promotion. We truly have been one big family around the league and getting to know you, and work with you, has been a blast every step of the way.\par
Lastly, and most importantly, thank you to ALL OF YOU. Whether you have only ever read one article or read them all, listened to a few podcasts or none at all, your support, feedback, discussions, debates, advice, EVERYTHING, over the years has helped us improve what we did and also helped some of us grow as people as well. We will be eternally grateful for all that you have given us.\par
We do ask one final favour of you though. Take care of each other, look out for one another, support our fellow bloggers and podcasters, but most importantly this...
"Stop making us listen to Sweet bloody Caroline!"
With our heartfelt thanks and our best wishes for the future,

Alan, Mark and Fergus

Frozen Steel 2015/16 - Meet The Team

On November 19th 2013 FSB was born. We've made a lot of friends to get where we are today and maybe an enemy or two but we're incredibly proud of what we have achieved.

Frozen Steel was started by Liam McCausland for a way to write about hockey mostly the Sheffield Steelers but Liam left the blog at the start of February 2014 leaving Tom and Alan to go it alone. Since then the reins have passed on again as you can see below.

From that, we've tried a few things: a Webshow (not sure when or if it will ever be back), A forum (which has now been deleted) A podcast and a talk show. We've also created a live update account, and have managed to reach 1,700+ followers on Twitter and 150+ likes on Facebook. Add into that 76,000+ page views, and its fair to say that we've done more than we ever imagined we would.

Mark Duell @hockeybhoy

EDITOR and Podcast pundit Mark is probably one of the most experienced hockey fans on the FSB team. He watched the sport first of all at the age of 8 courtesy of a school trip to the then Billingham Bombers team where he lived nearby from. At 16, Mark moved to these parts and has been a Steeler since the Club's inception. He cites Jody Lehman, Dennis Vial and Joey Talbot has his personal favourites and sponsored the Canadian forward in his final season in 2011.

A massive New Jersey Devils fan when it comes to the NHL and an owner of over 40 plus hockey shirts; he could be classed as the proper hockey geek. Mark compiles "The Elite Report" where he reviews the week in the EIHL in his own unique style and writes the match reports as well as the majority of the articles that appear on the blog. Like Alan, isn't afraid to say what he thinks.

Alan Claringbold @FrozenSteelMNL or @AwkwardGinge

ALAN is the guy behind @FrozenSteelMNL which is our live updating account and as well as being a co-pundit on the Breaking The Ice podcast, He is the man who rants. Alan's Awkward Analysis pieces have become a key part of who we are. He doesn't pull punches - he tells it exactly how it is, whether you want to hear it or not.

With Mark, he will be the man behind the newly re-launched podcast "Breaking The Ice"

Tom Walkeden @TomWalkeden

TOM isn't currently contributing to the blog, but we hope that will change. He wrote about anything in Sheffield Hockey circles.

He's still a livetweeter from the majority of Steelers games and well worth a follow.

Tony supporting the Panther's 2014 CHL campaign

Tony @DISGU15ED

TONY re-joins the team for with his "5 Things" and an increasing role behind the scenes. Tony has watched the Steelers on and off since Tony Hand signed, and is a hockey fan first, Steelers fan second.

Robert Newbolt @steelersstats @newboltrobert

THE go-to guy for anything you may possibly want to know from days gone by, Robert will bring us This Month In Sheffield Steelers History, a history lesson for those of us (yours truly included) who have only recently found the club, or anyone who wants to refresh their memories. Robert rejoins us for his second season as FSB historian.

Other occasional contributions can be found from :

Phil Holden @PhilSlice
SIHA and NIHL Correspondent

ANOTHER experienced member of the team, Phil provides FSB with what is happening at Academy Level from the young 'uns to those plying their trade at NIHL level with Sheffield Spartans and Senators. A popular bloke, he has written a book on his adventures with the Spartans entitled "Honesty and Passion" which is a very interesting read. He is also the step-father of former Steeler and current Steeldogs captain Ben Morgan.

Jake Oakley and Roger Williams @SnapperJakeO and @ElGordoSteel
SteelDogs

Jake and Roger are our guys when it comes to the Steeldogs. Jake is the one who has a line in eye catching suits should you wonder who he is, and is a pretty decent photographer to boot. Roger provides us with match reports from Steeldogs games and we appreciate the efforts these guys put in.

If you want to get in touch or help out then email the blog directly at hockeybhoy71@outlook.com

So that's the team for the coming season.

New season look, thanks Richard.

You have probably seen the above image on the front page of the site, looks good doesn't it? Well we are proud of it and so we should be.

However all the graphics would never have been in place if we didn't have an absolute genius of a graphics whizz helping us out. That genius is the man known as Richard Renshaw, known on Twitter as @CaVaLiEr666.
Richard has kindly provided FSB with the graphics you saw last season and has continued to provide such high quality work that we are so much in his debt. He is as we say, a genius when it comes to Photoshop and creating things. We don't know where we would be without him - it'd probably be a plain and boring site if it wasn't for Richard.

Cheers for the work sir, apologies for the late publishing of this but Mark's article publish button decided to have a moment or he just didn't click the button hard enough.

5 Things We Learnt - Hull Stingrays

Thank you to Tony for his contribution to FSB, All Credit for this piece goes to him/her so any queries you can contact him on Twitter @DISGU15ED

Five things from the Hull Stingrays. The fifth and final Gardiner conference team in my 14/15 roundup.

1> Clouts out - All coaches have their allotted time, but moving on a local legend and bringing in two rookies to head the player coaching duties in 14/15 was a big call. Think Pacha and Lauzon can hold their heads up with pride following seventh place in the league, and a great playoff run full of shocks.

2> That Quarter Final - Beating Braehead in overtime of the second leg wasn't what the bookies expected, especially after trailing 3:2 from the first leg, and an aggregate 4:2 down with 15 minutes left. Lauzon's OT winner must have been the home highlight of the year, sending the home fans away dreaming of beating the Steelers at the NIC.

3> That Semi Final - However heartbreak was ahead for the Hull fans (and everyone else in the NIC except those in Orange apparently), as Mighty Mathieu knocked in a disputed winner with just 3.8 seconds of the game remaining with Pacha sat fuming in the box. Best game of the POFW.

4>  Home fans + Away players = ? - Back at the Hull Arena. Is anyone else worried that making the players walk-out directly in front of one block of home fans on their way to the ice is a recipe for disaster? Is it really sensible to allow those fisher wives and their partners to jaw-off inches from the away team players just as they're tossed from the game?

5> Chips 'n Spice away days - Despite everything it's always nice to see the Steelers win away, and battering the flatfish faithful is always fun as we orange-out Hull.

One final thought, after checking out their website I can't see any evidence that the rink is really very versatile, so let's hope some of the 2017 City of Culture cash finds its way into the arena.

Favourite player : Carl Lauzon by a distance.

FSB Announcement - Changes at the Helm

Changes at the Helm

Hello everyone! We hope that you have been enjoying yourselves in the off-season, we have all certainly struggled without a hockey fix! There are however a few things that we would like to address before the puck drops on a new season.

Firstly, we would like to congratulate everybody involved with the UK Forums All-Star weekend that recently took place at Ice Sheffield as all their efforts have raised a mind boggling amount of money for some very worthy charities. Secondly, we also would like to say how pleased we are at not just the level but the quality of promotions being done by teams around the EIHL. It is refreshing to see that all clubs have turned it up a gear or two during the summer break. Not only that; but we are genuinely excited to see that the calibre of players coming to our shores has seemingly improved once more and this can only be a good thing for the league itself and hockey fans nationwide.

Now we have the addressed the above issues; we would like to take this opportunity to inform you of some definite and potential changes here at Frozen Steel.

First of all, there are also a couple of new ideas that we are looking to implement in the not too distant future. We are looking at introducing our own weekly podcast; this we hope to have more information shortly. The other item we are planning to introduce is a monthly competition where those of you attending Steelers games home or away, can tweet us pictures of yourselves at the game and the picture we judge to be the best, funniest or most random during the month in question - will win a prize of our choosing from either the Steelers merchandise stands or from our friends over at Cross Check Clothing. If the prize in question requires knowing a size of clothing, we will contact the winner so as to make sure you win something that fits you.

Also, during the summer Tom advised us that he would like to take more of a back seat role within Frozen Steel due to personal circumstances. This has therefore resulted in a couple of tweaks to the team and their respective roles. Mark will take over the editing role that Tom was doing and as such now has access to the FSB Twitter account alongside Alan and Tom. A lot of the other responsibilities and contributions from other sources will remain the same, including Tom still contributing with articles of his own as well as his part in our Match Night Talk Show on Audioboom.

We also have a personal message for Tom:

"Buddy, we will always be here for you through thick and thin on this journey. You will always be part of this team. We know times are tough but please never be afraid to come and talk to either of us or any of your hockey friends, whether they are in Sheffield or elsewhere in the League. Just do us a favour in return, make sure you keep practicing the Walkie Talkie dance!"

In closing, we would like to thank you all for taking the time to read this article and for all your continued support. We look forward to seeing and hearing from all of you from around the league. If you have any questions then please feel free to tweet us at the accounts shown below and we will answer those questions/queries as best as we can.

In the meantime, we are off to find some shelter. Apparently, there is a Storm coming...

ANNOUNCEMENT: FSB Presents: The Frozcast

Frozen Steel Blog would officially like to announce the Podcast called the Frozcast

Hey Everyone,

With a few changes happening around FSB obviously with Liam leaving us things are going to change and it always felt like the Furnace was never going to take off as there just wasn't enough commitment to it. You look at someone like Cat Whiskers they all live in Nottingham so it made it a lot easier and then take us where I live in Scunthorpe, Alan lives in Sheffield and Liam lived all the way up in Scarborough and at the time Liam had all the gear to make it possible and he could only make it to a game every now and then.

Liam then came up with an idea to a podcast which was a lot easier considering we could set topics, record them and send them over much easier and we got three episodes out and the news came that Liam had left and we obviously wish him all the best and hope to see him at games soon.

The Frozcast is going to continue and the person who is taking over it is Ryan Gleeson who jumped on the opportunity. You can follow Ryan on Twitter @RatedRDG. The podcast may not be every single week due to other commitments by Ryan; we obviously respect that as this is all voluntary out of our love for the Steelers and Hockey. Ryan does have access to the accounts and so he will put a post-up on what he wants to talk about and hopefully everyone will get involved and send voice recordings over etc., Ryan will give you the details of where to send them when it comes to Frozcast time. If you haven't listened to the Frozcast yet here are the shows we've done to date below:-

The Frozcast will be a regular occurrence hopefully not just for this season but into next season as well! The Frozcast is done via Soundcloud and to access the podcast via the site just simply go to Frozen Steel Blog FrozCast

If you want to get involved please contact us on twitter @FrozenSteelBlog or find us on Facebook and like us and leave a comment or you can email us at frozen.steel.91@gmail.com

ANNOUNCEMENT: FSB Presents: The Match Night Show

Frozen Steel Blog would officially like to announce the Match Night Talk Show.

Hey Everyone,

Now that the forum has been closed and we will no longer be seeing the furnace by the looks of it unless we somehow do a one off special. We obviously have the Frozcast run now by Ryan Gleeson and me and Alan would officially like to announce the creation of the Match Night Talk Show!

What the Match Night Talk Show will involve is me and Alan at the games talking pre-game or at the end of a period and we'll have the occasional guest on the show to give a different view on things for example getting an oppositions fan on the show to give their side of it. We thought this would be a good example for times like at cup final and we could get an immediate reaction at the final buzzer just to give people who maybe didn't have the opportunity to be at the game to experience the atmosphere.

If you haven't listened to the Frozcast yet here are the shows we've done to date below:-

7.2.15 - Steelers v Panthers - End of the 2nd

7.2.15 - Steelers v Panthers - End of the 1st

The Match Night Talk Show will be a regular occurrence hopefully not just for this season but into next season as well! The Talk Show is done via AudioBoom and to access the Talk Show via the site just simply go to Frozen Steel Blog Match Night Talk Show

Frozen Steel Birthday Post

Happy 1st Birthday to us!

So guys it’s been a year since the Frozen Steel Blog became reality and we made our first post!

It was Editor Liam McCausland who came up with the idea to start the blog and it was just after we had been to the NIC after a 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Panthers. We started as a team of three in Liam, Myself (Tom) and Alan and this is a quick quote off what Liam put in the About FSB on our website about how we got together.

“Due to my Geographic’s situation, I can’t attend every game – the cost would just be too much. I felt it was necessary for me to find somebody who does go to every game and sees the team week in week out, to add some legitimacy to what was being posted. I turned to a man I met at the 2013 playoff weekend, whose in-depth updates had kept me in time with what happened at many a game. Tom Walkeden was on board. Around this time, a certain angry auburn-haired gentleman was causing quite a stir from what he had to say on an episode of Cats’ Whiskers TV. I need that fire, that passion, the amount of love on the blog, and so Alan Claringbold joined the team.”

That is how the original three got together and from three we became 8 over the year and that’s isn’t including the pieces we’ve done involving the Academy, Steeldogs etc. as well as Steelers D man Cullen Eddy contributing so in the space of a year we grew immensely and are getting bigger we have the Furnace to really kick start we also have the Forum and off-course the match night live account @FrozenSteelMNL ran by Alan and not to mention updates @TomWalkeden like always.

Been part of this blog has gave me so much, not only has it helped me to meet new friends but I’ve learnt skill in writing and before I joined the blogs I did updates anyway and now my updates are in demand. Appreciate the support guys! I didn’t hesitate in joining the blog and I don’t regret a single second of it look at what we’ve achieved in such a short time so imagine where we can be in a few years. I know every member of the team feels this way otherwise we wouldn’t do what we do. The best part of this when our work is noticed not just by other Steelers fans but fans across the league as well as other well-known blogs.

We thank you for your continued support and hope that you continue to support and read what we have to say and why not have a go get in contact, write a piece, be on the Furnace loads to look forwards guy it’s been an amazing first year and you’ve all been amazing with us so once again thank you again!

Here is too many more years!
And once again Happy Birthday to us!

The Walkeden Review - Getting Into Hockey With Chris Evans

With the new Elite League season well underway I spoke with another fan from Scunthorpe, Scunthorpe is a town that hasn’t got an Ice Rink so is a town that is very much a stranger to Ice Hockey so I spoke with Chris Evans who is actually from a village very near to Scunthorpe and is currently living in Sheffield while he attends university about how he got into the sport.

FSB - What or who got you into Hockey?
CE - I saw an advert in Sheffield and I only heard good stuff from my friends who had been to it

FSB - Do you remember the teams of your first games and where?
CE - It was at the Motorpoint Arena and was between the Sheffield Steelers and the Cardiff Devils

FSB - Are you glad you went to an Ice Hockey game?
CE - I am very glad that I went to an Ice Hockey game

FSB - Where do you think British Ice Hockey is going?
CE - I think it has the potential to be one of the top leagues in Europe and it has the potential to attract big names from the states

FSB - Would you ever go out your way to attend more games? If so why?
CE - Yes I would because I enjoy ice hockey a lot and would happily go to more games

FSB - Have you got anything to say to someone that might be attending their first game?
CE - Keep an eye on the puck and just enjoy it and look up the rules before you go, it will make understanding things easier

Thank you for reading and thank you to Chris for taking the time to answer a few questions! I plan on doing a few more of these in the near future. Also if there is anyone reading this that is from a town or a village around the Scunthorpe area etc. without a rink or without easy access please get in touch with me on twitter @TomWalkeden

The Walkeden Review - Getting Into Hockey With Jamie Morgan

With season underway I was thinking to myself about how we get more people introduced to the sport and me being from a little town called Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire isn’t always the best I mean I love where I’m from but we don’t have an Ice Rink I mean think of the children growing up without an Ice Rink so there missing out on an amazing sport. My story of getting into this amazing sport is a long one but I’ve got many people into the game as a lot of my friends over the years were like what are watching on a weekend and so I bring them along one of them in fact has got a season ticket now. This time out I spoke to Jamie Morgan who is mad about his football and I invited him along two games and he obliged and here is a brief interview with a very good friend of mine.

FSB - Being from a town that isn’t known for Ice Hockey what was your first impressions on the game?
JM - I wasn't sure what I was going to think at first but as soon as the action got underway I was absolutely glued to the ice rink and the action. My first ice hockey match was down the road for me in Hull coming from Scunthorpe and to be fair to say Hull is a fairly big city I was surprised at how small their arena was but they did win the match 5-1 so I thought I was a bad jinx for the Sheffield Steelers ha-ha. That was until I saw them defeat Hull 3-1 in Sheffield.

FSB - What or who got you into Hockey?
JM - To be honest I was more of a casual ice hockey fan who watched matches on TV really like the Olympics and the odd match in American League when it was on TV etc. My friend Tom Walkeden also showed me some clips of some Sheffield Steelers matches and I thought to myself "I so have to go and watch them play and see what it's like to see them live"

FSB - Do you remember the teams of your first games and where?
JM - On the television I watched USA v Canada in The Olympics a fair bit back and the game was intense you can tell there's a massive rivalry between the 2 countries. The first match I saw live as I mentioned earlier was Hull Stingrays v Sheffield Steelers last season.

FSB - Are you glad you went to an Ice Hockey game?
JM - Absolutely delighted that I went to an ice hockey game. I now appreciate the toughness of the game that the players go through and you can tell how passionate they are to be out on the rink and basically trying to bash anything out of the opposition nobody seems to take any prisoners for sure. I was also impressed with how the fans no matter who you support were sat together and there's no segregation and a wonderful change compared to football is that you can take alcohol through into the stands and have it by your seat.

FSB - Where do you think British Ice Hockey is going? Does it have the potential to become even bigger?
JM - At the moment I can't really say my knowledge isn’t top notch but compared to the bigger countries such as USA and Canada etc. we are a million miles away behind them in my opinion. I don't think there are enough rich people who quite believe that Ice Hockey is the sport to invest in compared to let’s say football and rugby in Britain. I think it has the potential to grow in Britain definitely but there has got to be more interest in the sport for me. I am not saying it's not well supported because that would be disrespectful to the fans of all the teams and believe me I am now following Sheffield Steelers for good and will be attending more matches in the future. As I say my knowledge about British Ice Hockey isn't fantastic at the moment so I do apologise if I have appeared to be wide of the mark in my opinion.

FSB - Have you got anything to say to someone that might be attending their first game?
JM - I will say this for anyone who hasn't been there yet get down to your local team or whoever you fancy following and supporting and get to a game. The atmosphere is brilliant the interaction with the fans from hosting teams is fantastic as I found out in Hull and Sheffield. You will enjoy the sport for what it is trust me as it is fantastic.
